Waste Connections values employee referrals and recognizes the significant role they play in our hiring process. We offer a structured Referral Bonus Program to incentivize employees to refer qualified candidates for open positions, especially in high-demand areas such as tech and product roles.

Referral Bonus Structure

Tech/Product Roles

• Software Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists:
  • Bonus Amount: $3,000
  • Payment Schedule:
    • $1,500 upon the referred candidate's 90th day of employment.
    • $1,500 upon the referred candidate's 180th day of employment.

Other Roles

• Operations, Sales, Administrative Positions:
  • Bonus Amount: $1,500
  • Payment Schedule:
    • $750 upon the referred candidate's 90th day of employment.
    • $750 upon the referred candidate's 180th day of employment.

Eligibility Criteria

• The referring employee must be actively employed at the time of bonus payout.
• The referred candidate must not have been employed by Waste Connections in the last 12 months.
• Referrals must be submitted through the official referral submission process.
• The referred candidate must successfully complete the specified employment duration for each payout to be processed.

Process for Referrals

1. Submit Referral: Employees can submit their referrals through the internal Waste Connections careers portal. Ensure that the candidate's resume and contact information are included.
2. Review and Assessment: HR will review the submission and assess the candidate's fit for the open position.
3. Interview and Hiring: If shortlisted, the candidate will go through the standard interview process.
4. Bonus Disbursement: Upon the candidate's successful completion of the specified employment durations, bonus payments will be processed in the next pay cycle.
